TarekThe same issue applies to some, some of which pretty well designed, other keyboards sold in MD. I understand the motivation in this community for soldering, but this is not part of the purchase. Even in IKEA, AFAIK, you might buy a set of components to build up a table or a bed, but then you don't buy something *else* to build it up. I don't dine out with steak, sauce, wine and potato mesh packed in some zipper bags. I have the whole, well organised dish.

This is like walking into a fabric store and complaining why they sell only fabric and not clothes.. and telling them that its too time consuming and that you don't want learn to sew. You realize how ridiculous you sound now?

If you still want this, you could see if someone is willing to build it for you; I would definitely build a board for free for a friend if they just brought me the parts -- it's relaxing and fun for me.
I can see how it's frustrating that some of the interesting boards are essentially kit-only unless you go used, but it makes sense when you consider the low quantities and how custom they can be. I wouldn't be surprised if some combinations of options only appeared once or a handful of times.

Hate to break it to you but you're not in a specialized store, you're on massdrop. if you want to flaunt your elitism try geekhack. Fabric can be made into a number of things. Not just clothes. That's why people buy it. Unfortunately I can only make one thing with this kit. The keyboard that's displayed on the front of the drop. Is it really such a ridiculous thing to suggest that a lot of people would probably want this prebuilt? Not everybody is a Hardcore enthusiast like you, friend. I hope you realize how ridiculous you sound.

TarekActually, this is no right or wrong. Just consider the cost and give up finished products for sale. Not a machine factory is willing to accept 50 keyboard welding. It can only be done manually by welding, which requires a lot of time and money.

TarekNo. You clicked on a kit, expecting to get something that wasn't a kit. there are plenty of keyboards that are assembled so buy one of those. saying that fabric can be used for other things is a straw man argument. It says kit in the title. if you don't like the fabric example then use the example of model kits in a hobby store. Get over yourself dude. You sound like an entitled whiner. Hire someone to assemble it for you if you're too important and busy to do it yourself.

And that's why nobody goes to a fabric store expecting t shirts. This keyboard kit can only take shape in one way. That's why it's not ridiculous to want the option to have it assembled. And that's why someone night click on it expecting an assembly option. You make it sound like nobody had ever offered assemblies with their custom keyboard kits and that this is such an outrageous expectation. The truth of the matter is you're probably so deep up your own ass you fail to realize that not everybody wants the same things as you. You're not in a special keyboard building club. You're on massdrop. So guess what. You'll meet people with different priorities.

TarekYou'll find the same thing in several different communities here. Go to the hobby community. Some will come assembled, others will come unassembled. To complain about the difference in the two is useless. If you don't want to assemble, buy one of the other keyboards on here that come assembled. But don't complain that a KIT comes unassembled.

Unfortunately for you all your arguments are based on a false notion that what I said somehow was directing blame at anybody when i openly said that its basically nobody's fault and that its just a matter of personal preference.
