This is a lot of money for a readily available form factor. Not a great buy.
Would love to see other Red Scarf II+ models, however. Ver.c, for example, offers a rare split-backspace 68-key layout. If I were calling the shots, I'd prefer these rare style layouts.
zumuThe layout isn't the main selling point, the point is that it's inspired by the M0110 which is a highly significant keyboard for a lot of enthusiasts. I do agree it's pretty pricey all things considered though, mostly due to its other shortcomings.
zumuHUH? Readily available form farctor? Layout maybe. I just droped 360$ (extra plate and pcb plus shipping) on CA66 https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=93542.0Thus 300$ for this is ok. There are other points (like floating keys, tray mount or angle) where you can argue but definitely not the price.
T0mb3ryYeah the design is beautiful. I didn't know if I wanted to drop the cash on it but it's hard to say no.
I'm hoping that GMK Red Samurai or SA Royalty GB's open soon so I can get them shortly after the CA66 arrives.
TanvirK175Oh i am definitely getting GMK Red Samurai because it has those gorgeous royal colors. Gold, Burgundy (maybe Crimson) and Black. Definitely very unique.
T0mb3ryI've been looking around for a black/red set (burgundy is close enough and maybe even better for a keyset) and stumbled upon GMK Red Samurai and it's something I knew I wanted right away. The GH thread's OP seems adamant about using MD though and idk what's happening behind the scenes with those discussions, or if they're happening at all. It would make me feel much better if I knew it was coming soon.
