I have one of these Regal convertible fountain pens. I do not like the Regal pen in its fountain pen configuration. I found that I much prefer it in rollerball configuration with the ink cartridge. I have found that with some judicious trimming Sheaffer, Scripto and Mont Blanc ink cartridges fit. However, a Schmidt PRS rollerball replacement tip converts this pen into a decent rollerball accepting fountain pen ink cartridges. With a little more judicious trimming, I have managed cramming an international long cartridge in this pen. Fountain pen converters have been hit and miss, with the cheaper non-name brand converters working slightly better than some of the branded ones. Not my favorite pen, and one that is usually regulated to offering someone unaccustomed to fine pens. As a loaner pen, this Regal pen serves admirably hopefully converting others to my unique brand of fine writing instrument insanity.

ChurchillWI forgot to mention that there is a caveat to using the Schmidt PRS with the Regal - I had to make an adapter out of nylon on a lathe. Took me a couple of tries before I got one made that didn't leak. Too much trouble for a cheap fountain pen, but I learned how to thread better on my little lathe and gained experience.
