j.a.lYeah, for sure. Although I noticed a few of the keys are outputting number row scan codes (instead of numpad scan codes) and that was one of the main reasons I bought it. So I'm going to have to poke at the firmware and do some more testing this week. Not thrilled about that.

DataDescription says 4 layers and programmable via Boot Mapper, so that should be a relatively easy fix, I think.

DataOoh, that's a problem. I'm very curious about what you find - if it won't do numpad codes, I'm going to have to cancel this.
j.a.lI am a little confused here. What's the difference between number row sacn codes and numpad scan codes? I'll ask our engineer and come back to you guys.

RaymondwuKeypad keys "normally[1]" emit different codes than the number keys above the standard keys. See, for example, https://www.win.tue.nl/~aeb/linux/kbd/scancodes-1.html . This is desirable, because no weird hacks are required for the OS to differentiate the two, which you want if you want them to do something other than type numbers. Also, some OSes default to specific scan codes that correspond to popular dingbat-style icon font-characters for, e.g., alt-kp7 or whatever, and some folks seem to like this. (For you youngins, think of that as a sort of proto-emoji they used to use in the dark ages when dinosaurs roamed the earth and people actually spoke into phones.)
[1] I have no idea what "normal" means when it comes to custom keyboards.
j.a.lThanks, i am trying to understand this right now. i'll come back to you when i have some answers :)

j.a.lI was mistaken. The Revo outputs true numpad scan codes with the default firmware. It was just a weird behavior in EasyAVR that made me think otherwise. All is well.

DataAre you saying I could solder this up and it would output true numpad scan codes right out of the box, without messing with bootMapper? The less tinkering I have to do, the better.

DataVery nice, thanks for confirming. I just wanted to be sure. My main goal is to get a working keypad 1st, then mess with the bells and whistles when I have the time. Plus this one would just look so nice next to my anodized case.

gzprimeYou should be good to go. In-switch LED backlighting is also enabled by default. You'll just need to press Esc+Enter to cycle it on and Esc+Plus to turn up the luminosity.
