Is the 8 click function new? Also can't you just click 4 times to cycle through everything? What am I not understanding here?

UnwisefoolIt's actually 9 taps (not full clicks) to turn memory on and off. I just sold 30 of the V3 Pineapples.

UnwisefoolNo, to set "last mode memory" you click to turn light on, then tap (not full click) 9 times and it will toggle memory on or off.
Going through the modes is normal. Click to turn light on, then tap for each consecutive mode. "Last mode memory", the light will turn on to the last mode you were in when you shut it off. Turn off "last mode memory", and the light will always start in low when you turn it on.
Some people like it, and some don't. That's why you have a choice now with the new V3 Pineapple.
The V3 also has Low Voltage Protection for lithium ion 14500 button top batteries now. The V1 and V2 didn't have it, so you had to watch the voltage on your battery. Of course, using a standard AA, LVP doesn't matter. And never use Alkaline batteries. They leak. Only use rechargeable NiMH, or non-rechargeable Lithium Primary AA's.
Lithium ion (14500) and Lithium (metal) primary batteries are two different things. Lithium ion charges to 4.2volts. Non-rechargeable lithium primary (like energizer ultimate lithium) are 1.5v.
I also have the spacers available to tighten up and smooth out the loose switch button. You'll see what I mean when you get yours in.

UnwisefoolThe memory function is new to the v3, I think. You can cycle through everything in either mode by half pressing the button when the light is on. With memory off, if the light has been off for more than a few seconds, it starts up in the lowest mode. With memory on, it will start up in the last mode used.

UnwisefoolYeah, the angle. I have the V1, V2, & V3 Pineapple, and the heads are exactly the same. The V1 has a shorter battery tube. The V2 and V3 are the same host, but different driver.

bucktenBuckten do you still have any of those Teflon spacers? Also exactly how do you tell if you have the v3 or not, anything on the boxes barcode?

VarekaiYes, I have the teflon spacers. If you have the clip like the picture above, then it's the V3
