Am I the only one who asks himself how safe is this to carry? I mean, it is toxic that tritium, how is it protected inside the keyfob if there are holes?

The glass that makes up the vial is more dangerous to your health when it breaks than the tritium gas inside. I do believe that you would have to try really hard to break a 3mm wide vial encapsulated in a titanium cage close enough to your face that you managed to huff the tritium in it. The radiation that your mobile phone emits should alarm you far more than a tritium vial possibly breaking.

Don't buy it. It is very dangerous. In fact, just looking at it with naked eyes might cause permanent damage to your retina. The evil scientists who invented tritium should be shot in the heads. No to evil!
Got mine in the mail today, looks pretty nice and I like the packaging. One question for anyone who knows: what's the opaque plastic plug stuck in the hole? Is that something I should use to plug the tritium vials (on their way soon hopefully from mixglow)?

...the rounded/chamfered side just sticks out a little bit. ;-)
Reading about holes and plugs and pushing it in somehow turns me on...
I was going to pick up a few of these, until I noticed there was no tritium included.

You never will see the vials themselves for sale here or other major sites: https://www.tecaccessories.com/pages/primer-on-tritium To summarize, you can't sell tritium outside of existing products (watch, compass, gun sights, etc; https://www.nrc.gov/materials/miau/consumer-pdts.html) without a class 7 license. Bare tritium vials of this nature (or inside keyfobs) don't fall under any such exemptions. This is why you will only see select sites selling the vials themelves, or products similar to this containing these vials, such as tritiumkeychains.com or mixglo.com
Aliexpress also has a bunch of listings. but IDK if I can trust them with handling and containing of radioactive substances.
Ooh, that's good info, where is that? I've been looking with not very good luck.

Me too. 3*22.5mm tritium is worthy 14-19$ depending on different sources.
What is even the point of this thing? you can get them cheaper and with the tritium vial on other sites. Feels like a total ripoff.

The only competitively priced options I see on that site are stainless steel. The only one with a price you are thinking is considerably smaller and also not titanium. Asking for a link was more of a rhetorical question, because I've already looked and the only competitive offerings are roughly the same cost and still 4-6 weeks delivery in my experience (ebayers in China). So once again, please link something directly that is titanium and holds a 22.5mm vial, because even this current offering seems to beat most everything on that site directly. This item plus a vial is still less than the average $40 on that site. Site I use for trit vials is mixglo, and here is a link to the vial that fits this: https://www.mixglo.com/store/p8/T3_3x22.5mm_Vials.html

Thanks for saving me the trouble of typing all that. 😁 I'm definitely getting one of these, but I do wish it was more round (and a hair lighter on account of shaving the corners).
