RH Preyda Sportsman Honing Kits

Designed for smaller blade applications, the RH Preyda Sporstman Honing Kit is compact and portable so you can keep your blade sharp wherever you go. Each kit is housed in a custom wood base for storage and comes with a Soft Arkansas sharpening stone (400 to 600 grit) and a 1-ounce bottle of honing oil—enough to get the job done without taking up too much space. The larger kit also includes a Hard Arkansas sharpening stone (800 to 1,000 grit). To use a stone, simply add four to five drops of oil, align your blade at a 15- to 20-degree angle, stroke the blade three to 10 times, reverse the blade, and repeat the process.

Founded in Chicago in 2013, RH Preyda satisfies an industry need for handcrafted sharpening stones with a range of applications. Quarried by hand in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas, each of its stones is made from 100-percent novaculite—a material known for its density and unique siliceous structure. Since novaculite’s prehistoric discovery, it’s been used to fashion arrows and axes, and today is used to make high-quality sharpening stones suitable for virtually any blade-edged tool.
