I remembered that I had a small credit in my Amazon account, so I purchased the two stone kit for $22.26 (free shipping included) less my credit for a total of $13.06 delivered..
Not a bad deal, and I wanted an Arkansas stone kit like this, and RH Preyda is supposed to have the best stones found naturally in Arkansas.
Looks like a nice sharpening kit, but the pricing could be better.
It's not a lot of money, but Amazon is offering the same kit (two stones) with free shipping for $2.00 less, or $22.26 total.
I found the two stone kit at another site for 12.99, plus $7.06 shipping, or $20.05 total, which is $4.19 less.
Look like a good kit for keeping you blades sharp.
All you would need to probably add is a fine ceramic rod, and a leather strop, and you would be able to sharpen most knives to a very sharp edge.
The Soft Arkie is the lesser grit stone. The Hard Black is very fine: sufficient for a straight razor hone.
Traditional high carbon steels (1095 and similar) are easy to sharpen. I've used Arkies on O1 and D2 tool steels with decent results, but it does require some patience.
Cferrer1983I wouldn't try M390 on the stones. There are people who have reported sharpening M390 on ceramic stones. I'm not sure I would try anything with vanadium carbides on stones. I have diamonds, mostly, so it's no an issue for me.

@Tyler Just received this the other day. Is the grit mentioned under "Included" correct? It says "Hard Arkansas stone (800 – 1,000 grit)", while the stand says "Hard Black Arkansas" which is informed as "Hard Black Arkansas stone (2,000 – 3,000 grit)" in the RH Preyda Pocket Stones drop.
MikaelThis is an old question, but I'll answer it for posterity: Arkansas grit can't really be compared with regular whetstone grit... It can be around 800-1000 grit for a black Arkansas stone, but it translates to much higher grit if you "convert" the value to Japanese Whetstone grit... Here's a nice article that can explain it much better than I ever can:
