Have one and it´s a nice dac/amp. The xlr port on it only works if the internal dac is used and not if feed whit the line in. Runs HD600 fine and as I´m writing this I´m listening on the the ether cx whit it. The L1 of what I know was made whit the focus of selling it as an accessorie to the CL1 iem which was as I can describe it from listening to a demo a total trainwreck in the size of an exploding Deathstar. The CL1 do sound fine but only whit the L1 but whitout it the treble stops working properly and it hurt in my ears. Not did the CL1 work on my Audioquest Dragonfly Black either and less so straight in my phone which is unacceptable for an iem. This bad performance of the CL1 might have left the L1 in a bad cloud of the rumor of "Not only am I paying $500 for a pair of iem´s, but I can not even use them whit my phone but have to pay another $400 for an amp that is bordering to big for a pair of iem´s". As I´m writing this I can no longer find the L1 to buy where I previously have seen it. Quite likely that RHA has stopped making them. If the L1 where to come back I would like to sea at least a couple of changes (that could make me buy it again even). 1: Replace the Micro USB whit USB-C 2: Add bluetooth to it. Having as few wires connected to it when carrying it in my pocket the better. Do not mind if it gets a bit bigger because of it since the added space would otherwise have been occupied by a usb plug. Also a nice thing would to add adapters to the xlr port in the box or at least sell them separetly as an accessory. It was not fun getting an adapter myself so that i could plug in full sized xlr plugs in it.
