PURPStheillestMoleskine is pretty bad. Use a fountain pen on both and you'll see why: the ink bleeds through and feathers on Moleskine's papers while neither of those happen on these Rhodia/Clairefontaine papers. They don't even compare.
If you're using a ballpoint/rollerball then feel free to get Moleskines. Just know that you'll be getting an inferior product.
jeremyfI have several Moleskine soft cover notebooks that I purchased back when Borders went out of business and they work just fine with fountain pens. No feathering, no bleed through. Is their more recent product lower quality?
ArtSJCI've had horrible bleeding and feathering with Moleskines of all varieties. I love Moleskines but they have never played nice with my fountain pens.
However, I can tell that there is probably a pen/ink sweet spot somewhere because I've gotten passable results using drier/finer nibs with inks like Noodler's X-Feather.
conibI'm using kon-peki in a Sheaffer Prelude medium nib. It actually flows a bit too much, a fine nib would be perfect for this ink, but still no issues with my old stock Moleskine.
