Ron Rider knows shoes. A second-generation shoe merchant, he puts his deep knowledge to work at Rider Boot Co., known for its durable, stylish footwear made from fine leather. Crafted from kudu, a species of antelope native to the African savanna, this pair of Eben boots is made in Italy and available only on Massdrop in these limited-run colors. Soft yet strong, the leather hails from the renowned Charles F. Stead & Co. tannery in Leeds, England. It features natural grain markings that give it a marbled look, and it’s finished with wax to improve its durability and four-season utility.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of size and color. These boots are being offered in a made-to-order run exclusively through Massdrop - please see below for sizing and production information.
Combining the ruggedness of American workwear with a decidedly fashionable European shape, the Eben is classic Rider. Built on a 97 last, the Eben features a flat, soft, and slightly pointed 5 + 3 moc toe. It’s made with a Dainite sole and heel, which, combined with the rapid storm welt construction, gives it superior resistance to water. When selecting your shoe size, Rider Boot Co. recommends that you stay true to size.
Please note that all colors will lighten considerably when stretched over the last to form the shoe. The sample model shown is made in Snuff Kudu. See the discussion thread for examples of footwear made in these colors.
