Based on Rider Boot Co.’s classic Chelsea silhouette, these boots stand out for their leather: reverse kudu from England’s Charles F. Stead, one of the most respected suede tanners in the world Read More
Ive been dying to get these this last month, they showed up today and....I was shipped the wrong color :/. I ordered the snuff and got the cigar. They are the right size and fit great but I really hope there is some way I can get the snuff color! If anyone out there got a size 10 snuff and expected a cigar color....I got what you need. Otherwise @TomasV I'd really like to try and work something out as I still really want some light suede chelsea's. I'm so bummed I really have been looking forward to these...
These are fantastic, just stoked about the quality (And glad the chocolate isn't TOO dark). I'll be in on any rider boots that drop in the future so keep em coming 😉
@TomasV I have received the boots yesterday and really like the reverse side of kudo leather, soft yet strong, very similar to suede. I am wondering what kind of care product i can use to keep them in good shape. I have tried using suede brush, but immediately noticed that the suede brush is too harsh, and brushed off some "hair" from the leather. Is it normal? Then I found regular horsehair brush is good. Anyway, please let me know if you or Ron has any tips for leather care. Thanks!
ZZ_UPennHello there!
I checked with the man himself, Ron: "A standard stiff bristled suede brush is too aggressive for sueded Kudu.....a soft brush (either a typical horsehair buffing brush or a soft bristled suede brush, or even the nubuck brushes) would be ideal. The #1 recommendation would be a can of the Tarrago brand 'Nano-Protector Spray'. It is a dream product, and we use it in the shop for every pair sold. That would be about it!"
Hope that helps!
So I place my order, and on command Massdrop/Rider unilaterally cancels my order because it has been "backordered" rather than inquire whether I would like to wait for Massdrop/Rider to fulfill the order. This is the second time in weeks Massdrop has screwed up an order, and as a small token of their "appreciation and gratitude" they added $15 dollars to my account, like I want to continue purchasing on Massdrop after these two debacles. Massdrop has to get their head out of the gutter. I'm not sure what is causing the miscommunication between Massdrop and their vendors, but they better figure it out. And I'd be happy to wait for my boots, as I was really looking forward to them. Its a damn shame. Not only do I think less of Massdrop, but unfortunately Rider as well, and I have only heard great feedback from those who own their products.
Cool. And don't be concerned with the 'small' notation. Your pair was in my stock here at the shop and they simply used it to take the images. Not a true sample at all....regular boot. Cheers!
WChrisProbably never, it seems like a one-time drop for a product they had in limited quantities.
At least this was a legitimate 'price drop' of the sort everyone is hunting for.
