I personally did not get my 1507s through Massdrop. I have the M390 limited run and absolutely love mine. Just wanted to comment my two cents so that people can get an idea of what a good 1507s is like to live with in case the knives from this drop increase in quality. I can say this: the knife is very striking. Almost immediately you’re captured by all the minuscule details they managed to work into the knife handle with their CNC and all the little quality of life details that come on the blade itself (Like the chamfered flipper tab, decent sharpening choil, etc.). I noticed that the only color options available for this drop are the single-color anodizations. This is a shame, as a huge reason I love my own 1507s is the contrasting anodization colors that are separated by the milling pattern of the handle. gives the handle great depth and amazing properties in different lighting. Another thing I can’t attest to is the S35VN. As mine is made from M390, I have never had a problem with it’s sharpness, even if it didn’t come shaving-sharp out of the package. the blade works perfectly in M390, and I can’t imagine that changes too much for the base model. The action on my knife is great - good detent, never had a problem with it, runs VERY smoothly. Lastly- the M390 model comes with a very understated and stylized makers mark on the blade close to the handle, and it’s not obtrusive whatsoever. This isn’t true for the model available in this drop. The text is blocky, dark, and doesn’t look very good. If you‘re fine with that, cool, but if you aren’t you’ve been warned. Overall I absolutely love my knife, and I would recommend it to anyone I come across - BUT, this isn’t my knife. It comes in an inferior steel (though a good price for the lesser steel), without the striking color options available through Rike, and so far people have reported that the action is pretty horrible in this drop, which is disappointing, as mine is great. I would recommend you either wait for a future drop that has more options and a fixed QA experience, or find a different seller.

AuraMaster2 more cents to add (and personally I'm on the fence--another time of year I'd be all over it, but right now I've got Spyderco sprint runs to try to snag, two more of the new ZT models, and man is the 0393 sweet, buyitbuyitbuyit!, and the machines at Tony Marfione-Wonka's crazy Microtech knife factory seems to have sputtered to life again, so who knows whats on the way?)...anyway, my boys at BladeHq say, if you have any interest in this knife, at <$200 and multiple color options, you should go for it. They themselve have only limited color options available and the price is $285 to $300; they have no info about a resupply, which doesn't mean they won't get any more, only that they may or may not. And all their models have the S35VN blades, so goodness knows what the price tag for M390 steel would be. I have no vested interests one way or another, I just haunt my local knife sellers' shops enough that they'll give me the straight dope as they see it, and I'm passing it along.

HatuletohI totally agree that it’s a great price given the usual price tags for the knife, but based on the feedback from people who have bought from this drop, the action is abominable due to some manufacturing grit left in the mechanism. If you love the knife and are willing to take that bet, go for it. My experience is simply that some of the reasons I love my knife is its unique coloring, great steel, and amazing action - and it seems like all three are missing here. (Also, to answer your question, I got my M390 edition for a tiny bit over $300, about $310).

AuraMasterSorry, didnt mean to sound argumentative, just wanted to provide the perspective of some realtive experts, i.e., the BladeHq guys, since I'm fortunate enough to be able to walk into an outstanding retailer like that and get the employees' honest opinions. And in fairness to Massdrop whom I've criticized for product offerings priced with little or no discount, I thought it fair to mention that this drop has a pretty good one.
Ultimately, it comes down to the questions that most knife discussions/debates come down to: what features does a particular individual want and need for how they expect to use the knife; and what is one willing to pay for those features? And also, what's your favorite color? And do you think EVERY SINGLE lanyard bead should be some type of skull, or can some be devils, zombies, and zombie devils...maybe with skulls?
I'm actually with you on this knife and in general: give me the highest quality version I can get. If I have to save up for weeks and eat ramen noodles the whole time thats what I'll do. But I tend to go for best offering of any given type of knife. Well...other than when buying Protech. Some of those go a bit out of my budge, even on a ramen diet.
