According to Fedex, my Rike Knife M2 in Dark Gray has been shipped and is currently 78 Miles away away from me. Expected delivery says Monday. I'm hoping to have this sexy beast in my hands on Fri. or Sat.

GummyMcFatstacksActually, I received mine yesterday. It's Awesome. I love the finish on the blade, I have never seen this before. it's dark but shiny. Almost matches the handle exactly. I'm annoyed that there is a blemish on my blade and I have already contacted MD support. I hope they can send a replacement. Here's a pic of the funky area on the blade.

WoodyBaltoAwww man! That sucks. Hope they work it out for you. In the discussion thread here there is .....um .....discussion on Rike's quality assurance. This doesn't look good for their overall rep. Hope mine is ok. I got the black wash as well.

GummyMcFatstacksNot sure what you read about Rike But I can tell you that they have NO quality issues, I already own about 8 Rike knives ranging in price from $50 to $650 and I have never had a single issue. They are near the top when it comes to Quality higher end Chinese knives, They are right there with Reate, We, Bestech and others.

KavikDon't take me so literal. I'm sure there are knives that get sold that have issues. I was suggesting it's not a widespread issue. It's low enough that I can buy with confidence.

KavikI’ve purchased three Rike knives here, and only the Hummingbird had no issues. The worst Rike Knife I bought here was the Rike Thor 4. There were a lot of scratches on both sides of the blade. The tip of the anodized titanium triangular piece around the backside pivot is a completely different color from the rest of this piece. I don’t know what would cause the discoloration on that “blue” piece like that.

KavikAll due respect... Not feeling the respect. My mistake for using "NO" I assumed that there there is a Chinese knife bashing thread or ten where people will outright lie for whatever reason. I was being defensive when it wasn't needed here.

You're right, those threads exist, but it wasn't what i was thinking of, and I don't judge any manufacturers based on country of origin. My experience with Rike is limited to buying 3 Hummingbirds at the same time, none having major issues, but also none being quite the same level of finish... Basically the definition of lax quality control.
But what I've seen on here is other people posting pics of knives they've received ranging from minor quality issues like scratched finishes and scuffed blades, to manufacturing issues like poorly drilled detent holes and inconsistent anodizing. Some things that would make me leery of their production quality, and enough different things to convince me that their QC checks are definitely lacking

DougFLA123Hmmm, that's a strange one. I wonder if that's what it looks like when you short a piece that you're anodizing and it throws a spark and scorches the metal?
Just a guess, but I've seen similar weird color spots when my lead was loose and i saw it spark when it reconnected in the water

WoodyBaltoI love my Chinese made Reate, Bestech and WE knives! I personally have had issues with my Rike knives, but I think that Chinese made knives are fantastic in general!

KavikIt looks like someone held the corner of that piece with their finger tips and dipped it into the solution until it turned blue, except for the portion they were holding. : ) Maybe the piece just wasn’t cleaned very well before they anodized it. Massdrop was pretty good about it...they gave me a partial refund and I kept the knife.
