Really on the fence about this. I do like the knife and this is the best price you can get for this, but is it worth it? I am not sure.. Integrals are expensive though, there isn't much better you can do for them. Someone point me in the direction of another more reasonable if you know of any, thanks.

AppolyonI thought it was funny, some guy on youtube called integrals, "an overpriced solution that's in search of a problem." But that's not why people buy them, they just look cool. When you break it down to practicality:
Advantages: The less parts, the less that can go wrong or missing (ie screws etc.)
Disadvantages: Might be heavier and harder to clean.

Dhill21Pretty sure I can buy replace close to a billion lost/stripped screws for the additional $300 lol
Just messin', but that is description was a funny way to put it, and they certainly do look cool

Dhill21When I said "there isn't much better you can do for them." I specifically meant price-wise. All integrals are expensive and their reasoning, I believe is the work it takes to make something so intricate from one piece of titanium is hefty. All the integrals are 500+ and this thor 5 is 600 on bladehq. I'm probably going to jump on this.

pixll@Appolyon LionSteel has one under $200 on bladeHQ..... But yeah, it's a combination of things (size, steel type, intricacy of the design), but the integral part definitely adds a hefty premium to any of them over what they would otherwise cost

AppolyonBenchmade anthem is around $425, surprisingly less expensive considering who makes it.
Spyderco Paysan may be cheaper, not sure if the price has been released yet. Spyderco Nirvana's were like $400 as well, but they had issues.
Liong Mah has a integral for $500
Reate has a expensive integral as well with premium materials.
VDK has an integral (on sale) for $295 with an interesting grind http://vdkco.com/ <--- best price so far
We knives have the 702 for around 295 as well
There are some no-name chinese companies on aliexpress / other chinese sites selling integrals for around $295 -350, aliexpress is having a sale soon and you may be able to get a good deal. This may be the best option for a fullsize interral.
Otherwise we are back to rike, I think their small thor4 sold here on massdrop for $200, but it is very small, they have a couple other integral knives at different sizes and prices.
Lionsteel has integrals too, in ti and aluminum, I had one but wasn't a fan. The aluminums ones have come up on massdrop so you may see them again.

JubilantBearWow, thanks for the very thorough and informative post! I think from all you listed, the only ones that interest me are the reates, but, damn, they're pricey. The thor 2 definitely seems like it was too small, but otherwise good looking knife as well. I don't think I can get myself to spring 300+ for a Chinese integral. I'll just save a little more for something more reputable.

AppolyonThor 2 was a 3.75 inch full sized folder. And the Chinese brands currently making the well-known integrals are, if anything, more reputable than most other companies on the market right now short of actual custom makers.

pixllMy bad, I meant to say the thor 4 was too small, the one Jubilantbeat mentioned. Which was 2.3", way too small. 3.75 would be a great size. And back to what Jubilantbear mentioned, the chinese no-names on aliexpresss. I definitely do not mean the established chinese companies like Rike, Reate, or We.
