This is a great little game, and a great price for also getting the wooden resource tokens.

mjk333I'd love to hear a little more about it, the description kinda sucks and I've never seen a YouTube video that satisfied me as much as someone's direct opinion.

SchuylerBasically, there are 4 potential actions to take (Grow, Move, Gather resources, or Draw cards). Each has 3 filled dice slots. On your turn, you'll roll and add the dice to each of your selected actions, pushing the oldest die out for the next person to use. Dice have an even number of 3 side types : Sun, Moon, or Blank. Depending on the dice now in the slots, you'll get the standard action, a boosted action, or a diminished action. (2 Suns showing = boosted; 2 Moons = diminished) Depending on the dice you're adding to, you're likely to be setting up the next person to take that action with the same result. Example: You want to Grow your tribe. Currently showing is [Sun][Moon][Blank] (this is the default starting setup for each action type). You roll a Sun and a Moon. If you play Sun, it'll be [Sun][Sun][Moon] (the Blank is pushed off for the next person to use for rolling), you'll get a boosted action, but so will the next person to use the action, since it'll be [Whatever][Sun][Sun]. The order you'll choose your actions in will also matter. There are a lot of interesting decisions, both for what you want and for what you're willing to set up others for. Also, if you roll doubles, an Event will occur, which could be good or bad, and will likely last several rounds. Events are fun, so everyone likes it when someone rolls doubles. You just hope that YOUR doubles aren't Moons. Next, you'll check for conflict. Conflict only occurs when there are more than 5 tribe members of any combination in a single hex, so it's possible to share. If there's a conflict, one of each type of tribe member is removed until only one tribe remains. There can be a lot of interesting weighing between whether sharing will be enough for someone, or if they're going to try to take over. There's no rolling involved, so everyone can tell just how much someone might need to have in order to take over a hex. Then you'll be able to Build things by spending resources, either villages (which net you one point each at the beginning of your turn), or completing cards from the Card Draw action. Things you build tend to give you new abilities to use later, in addition to an immediate point or two. Cards could also have conditions to be met, like Presence, Majority, or Control of certain things. (The first two can be accomplished even while sharing.) Cards give fun abilities, and if you're lucky, you'll get some that'll work well together. The game ends immediately when someone hits 15 points, and even with a full 4 players, the game doesn't seem to ever take more than 40-45 minutes. (If anything, it feels like it ends a little bit too fast.) Optional rules include: Asymmetric abilities, tiles that provide more than one type of resource, and leaders, which I haven't tried yet. I definitely recommend the wooden resource tokens that are part of this drop - the standard cardboard tokens are a little too small to pick up easily (about the size of a fingernail). The game is fun, there are a lot of things to do and try, and it plays quickly. One of the Kickstarters I'm most satisfied by. Let me know if there's anything in particular you'd like to know more about.
