Have you ever looked at a plastic phone case and thought you could design a better one, or wished that you could have your own replicator like on the Enterprise? Now you can with the Robo R1 3D Printer, which allows you to create anything you’ve ever wanted (as long as it’s made of ABS or PLA plastic) in the comfort of your home or office.
Since the printer comes fully assembled, all you need to do is plug it in, feed it a design, and watch it work. The printer is compatible with several 3D modeling programs including, but not limited to, Solidworks and Google Sketchup. For added convenience, your files can be loaded directly into the printer without a computer through an SD card slot. The printer also comes equipped with automatic calibration, so you don’t need to fine-tune the settings before printing your first component.
The Robo3D is capable of printing objects up to 10 x 9 x 8” (720 cubic inches or twice the volume of a soccer ball) in both ABS and PLA plastics, as well as a variety of experimental materials including laywood, HIPS, and T-Glase by Taulman. The 1.75 mm filament accepts universal cartridges and delivers a high quality finish.
