a lot has changed compared to previous Kaves (e.g. build quality, comfort). I own 5.1 Analog model (as well as Fidelio X1 and AKG Q701 and Superlux HMC631) and i can tell you that for gaming, especially CS, they rock and are much better than Q701, X1 or HMC. If positioning is what you are looking for, then analog version (remember you need card that support 5.1 channel) is what you should be looking for. Its way better to pinpoint enemies with kaves than with any other headphones i have. Sound siganture is not best, i would say ok at most - you should not choose them for sound quality. Simply speaking - If you are looking for headphones for music and gaming then pick other model. Kaves are pure gaming, mostly for CS (for BF i would pick Q701 or X1 as they are much more fun to listen when game has great sound itself).

SurfinsamThe difference with the analogue headphones is that it'll have several speakers under each earcup (I think three per cup for 5.1 surround and four under each cup for 7.1 surround). Virtual Surround options, by contrast, are really just stereo headphones with some special software.
