Mechanical Keyboard Sound Isn't That Simple
Figure 1: I couldn't think of a more literal way to represent this article if I tried... Looking back just a few years ago, there’s no doubt that the huge influx of people that joined the hobby at the peak of the COVID pandemic were drawn to keyboards by way of YouTube, TikTok, and other audio-visual content platforms. Even as the output from these content creators has waned in recent months, their collective impact and legacy on the keyboard hobby is rather firmly etched in the history books. As a result of all of their sound tests, build logs, and opinion videos, the message is clear to any new person joining the hobby: mechanical keyboards are all about the sound. Thock this, clack that. Whether it’s keyboards, keycaps, or even singular switches, seemingly everyone new to the hobby meticulously pores over each component of their keyboard not in an attempt to figure out how it will feel in hand, but how it will sound as they’re furiously grinding their way out from...

$55.00USD to ship this item to where I live is a joke. Might as well buy it from Newegg or Ebay direct due to charging the same price when it comes to shipping, hence MD isn't good value anymore.
Amazing how you lot have fallen down especially when it comes to sending freight around the world. All your Competitors suddenly look good again to purchase from ; )
It's not a light weight keyboard at all, yet you are saying that the Roccat TKL is somehow 5 or 10 kilos in weight due to currently charging now $55.37USD?
Time to explain why some items are shipped dirt cheap and others you rape the customer in charges, not fair if you are using the same shipper which I know is DHL. Maybe you've seen how certain dodgy Ebay sellers charge large amounts in shipping and pocketing the extra profits for themselves.
Suppose asking these important questions never really clicked with the likes of you, due to simple minded cretins who would rather be permanent MD felchers instead.
ALWAYS ask the questions and demand an answer, that is what this area is for instead of always sticking your tongue into their arses and telling everyone here, it tastes good, .....wake up sunshine ; )
As I provided evidence above relating to a previous purchase from here, why the HUGE price discrepancy (well over 450% price increase)?
You can keep on being MD's personal arse-lick I don't care but my question has been aimed at MD, hence I'm still waiting for their response (or their lack of).
Secondly I am with Elrick on this one, except for the name callings, we both partook in a great number of drops; and thanks to Elrick I also noticed irregular shipping costs as well.
All and all, we work hard to earn money and we just want a clear cut answer to ensure that our hard earned cash is invested in the right place
Shipping cost is all over the place because of the different "tiers" they have set up. For example, rather than saying every kilo you ship is $X they just say the first kilo is $X, then 1.0001 kg up to 1.999 kg is $Y, and so forth. That jump from tier 1 to tier 2 to tier 3 is very rarely linear either. Sometimes it will be double, sometimes it's just a few more dollars. Then on top of that they add costs depending on box dimensions. So even though the Realforce is a pretty heavy board, it's a rather compact box and ships for the lower price. The Roccat has some unique dimensions and results in a big ass box, which the shipper is more than happy to charge for.
I'm not 100% on what the actual numbers are for each of these shipping tiers and have no idea how they decide these costs, but this is how very similar things get wildly different shipping prices on our end. You add just a little weight and double the volume of space it takes up, boom. Welcome to your new much higher ship cost.
Don't like it here? Leave. You might as well, since you have no need for a nice keyboard when you clearly don't know how to write.
