Or just buy a Wacom tablet for like 40 bucks more....and before someone says the stupid comment "well what if someone can't afford the extra 40", don't buy a stupid smart notebook if your bank account can't take an 80 dollar hit.

trevor266Hmmm... this is portable. And doesn't need a computer. And maintains the information as a notebook until you erase it. Seems like different tools for different use cases.

trevor266The Sleight? And it has multiple pages that keep the actual words on it? And don't require power?

ChuckDeeCorrect, the pen itself will transmit a digital version of whatever you write to your computer, I'm not sure how that works when not on wifi, but that's the idea of it.

ChuckDeeWith the sleight it's a pad that you put any paper on, the pen is where the magic happens

trevor266Like the Livescribe. Which we've already discussed? I was unable to find any mention of this... do you have links? And why didn't you speak on the your Wacom and make the silly statement at the beginning rather than starting out with this?

trevor266As someone who owns both the Slate (or as you call it, the "sleight") and the Rocketbook, this is me chiming in to say I prefer the Rocketbook 100% of the time. The Slate is by far the worst Wacom product I've ever used. I have no doubt they'll release an improved version of the Slate someday, and I will say it's considerably more visually appealing, but for now it's really terrible - especially compared to the Rocketbook.

ArcendusOh! Didn't get that he meant slate instead of sleight.
So this one:

trevor266There's an inherent difference between the two. For example, some professors do not like students using computers in their lectures, or that the tracking on the tablet may not be exemplary (I cannot say, I don't use digital tablets for writing). That being said, the Rocketbook Everlast feels like writing on a laminated piece of paper, and is basically a washable notebook. Therefore, it doesn't need a computer to connect to, can be used anywhere at any time, and has a theoretical infinite number of reuses. Give it a shot before you bash it :)
