Nice, well-behaved inks that don't break the bank. Come in a no-nonsense and very functional bottle. The colors I tried so far:
Salix & Scabiosa -- great examples of modern Iron Gall ink. Do not bleed or feather even on cheap paper.
Verdigris -- an interesting dark teal that can still be used in an office setting.
Alt-Goldgrun -- beautiful, especially in a broad stub.
Alt-Bordeaux -- subdued color, nice shading.
My husband and I did a water test with all of the inks we own, including the three R&K inks that I picked up here. Two of them were the iron gall inks. True to form, they were among the handful of inks that did not run. For those interested in the iron galls, the longer they dry (measuring in days), the more permanent they are. I'm very happy with my purchase! And, the morinda was the perfect blood-red color that I wanted for my shark pens too. =D
The Iron Gall Salix is a really nice ink but I have noticed some staining of the insides of my Lamy 2000. The Schwarz and Goldgrün are also nice but may appear a bit more grainy and muted than the pictures show. Overall, really nice inks despite my wallet crying.
I really like these inks. Rich colors that look good and dry fast. The sepia and verdigris will work in professional environments while the Solferino is just a nice color. No problems in the pens I’ve used so far and clean up was easy
I love the shading qualities of these inks especially alt-goldgrun but my favorites are the Iron-Gall's.. Scabiosa is a dusky purple and Salix is a really nice professional blue.
