I had same problem a number of others have experienced - I could not get one of the plugs out and had to use tweezers. The panic I experienced made me want to throw them in the trash. To be fair, the earplugs did a great job in reducing the loudness of listening to music at a live concert. Some have commented that these did not effectively reduce the sound volume. I disagree and some may just be mistaken in what these earplugs are designed to do. Musicians' earplugs should work like a volume control. If you are looking for something to sleep in and block all sound, these are not your product. But, if you can put up with the possibility of having to use tweezers to get these out of your ear canals, these do a great job in a live music venue and reducing the level to where you can enjoy it. They reduce the volume while maintaining all of the tones you should hear. If you insert these so far in your ear so that when you talk, it sounds like your voice is resonating inside your head, then you have inserted them incorrectly. I would recommend to the manufacturer to extend the stem so you can grasp it and remove them more easily. I am thinking of trying something like a shoe string to insert the plastic rimmed end into the stems tightly enough so I can pull them out of my ears with the string. I haven't done this yet so I do not know if it will detrimentally affect the sound quality of the music. Just my 2 cents....
