Did the tool bags ship this week?  If not, what's the ETA?
Is this drop going to ship on time or another delayed Massdrop???

Seems like its another delayed drop...
I had a $10 credit and had to buy something! This seems nice. Some said it is small. They said it is well made. I need something to put my flashlights in! This will do. Ended up paying $7 and change. Now I wait.
Is it normal fabric? Is not it durable functional fabric? The zipper is a durable YKK brand, not a regular zipper?
I used one of my $10 coupons from the Spyderco fiasco... can’t beat $1.99 lol

@massdrop FedEx SmartPost is the WORST! 8 days to get from PA to FL is horrid. Either offer affordable, expedited shipping options, or continue to lose business to other online retailers that offer FAST FREE shipping.
Which colour is the one pictured? It seems like something in between coyote and OD... 🤔
Is there a way to get multiples in different colors without joining multiple times and paying S&H multiple times? My kids want different camo patterns...

Available on eBay right now (search for "Rothco 9181") , same bag, same 11.99 price, but with free shipping.
Is this still made in India? Not that it's necessarily a bad thing but lots of times people think they're getting USA made products from Rothco or any other military supplier.
yeah, I got a Rothco duffel and it's made in India. As far as the quality. The color changed from olive drab to a mottled acid wash look after it was washed once.
Regular or jumbo size available on Amazon today @ $14.99 free 2 day shipping.

I do understand. I went to Amazon's website and, using Amazon's search bar on their website, searched for the words: Rothco mechanics tool bag.
First (top) result is it.

Gotcha, thanks
Just got this from the latest drop. As others have stated, no carry strap was included.
Is it possible to send it to Mexico? If so, what is the cost?
One of these bags was perfect to hold my soldering Iron and related items. Made for a perfect portable electronics kit.
$12.99 on Amazon. I've bought seven bags now.
Very curious what was meant by “carry strap”, I had assumed it meant a shoulder strap but nothing of the sort was included in the package I received today. Kind of a bummer.
Update: I never got a strap. Was told by Massdrop that they ran out, and they offered either a return/refund or a $5 credit. Still have no idea what this strap is supposed to look like.
So far this is the best price I have found for being outside America.
Hate to be a party pooper. But this bag is cheaper on eBay if you include shipping cost. There's also no wait, you can literally buy it and it'll be shipped out instead of waiting another 5 days for this offer to end.
hm, with the price drop to account for amazon being damn near the same price, i think i'll be ordering myself a new range bag from here.

nvm, 4 dollar shipping is the part everyone's talking about.
There's roughly an 11 cent difference between this drop and the price on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BFJE8S/ref=twister_B01GPBS4PK?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 $15.85 on amazon
http://puu.sh/ydpwK/1ed50f3459.png $15.74 with shipping on Massdrop, and the shipping date is well over a month >ESTIMATED SHIP DATE >Nov 28, 2017 PT
Compared to 2 day shipping with Prime and 3-4 day without. There's next to no reason to get this from Massdrop if you really want it, and especially if you want it any time soon. With how long you wait for it to arrive you're probably mathematically losing money.
meh...average product at best, probably fine for lightweight stuff but i bought two of these at the local surplus store to use as tool bags for my 4x4's, both ripped after about 6 months of trail use, they are made from cotton, not canvas just as an fyi.
that said, you get what you pay for and if you want a light duty bag for odds and ends and this will be fine, but if you plan on keeping this for a long time and carrying heavier items i would consider dropping a few extra bucks and looking elsewhere.

tbh 6 months for a cotton bag used for 4x4's is a pretty good track record. You wouldn't use a meat cleaver to cut tomatoes. Should get a canvas bag for your 4x4 trips, if only to avoid soaking a cotton one with water (which I assume you see a lot of, if 4x4 videos on youtube are accurate). I think this is more like a workshop toolbag, I'm thinking Chop Shop with junkers in the yard that need about 10 tools to disassemble the interior. Would probably be great for a job like that.
Sorry guys, 4.99 for the small black one here at a local Military Surplus (brandnew); the large one is 12.99. And I am taking them to town and all the bags have been holding up w/no problems including aggressive long-haul off road trips on the bike. I don't care what particular brand they are since they can take my abuse.
I buy locally on this one.

Nice that you found a good price from a local store. That sorta thing can be all over the place depending on where you live though, for instance I bought a cheap folding knife from a local hobby shop and found it later on Amazon for nearly half the price. Really dependent on what you're buying and where. Sometimes local stores can also have surplus or old inventory they need to move that they can sell at a loss, leading to lower prices. But those are flukes and hard to rely on.
Hope you enjoy the bag.
I now own three of these but all bought cheaper from Amazon (in the last two months). The latest has a rounded zip opening which is pretty cool and the quality is quite good. I use one for the boot of my car to keep spare modems, NICs and cables.

They're actually still marginally cheaper on Amazon right now. Or at least they only cost like 50 cents more. Honestly worth it to avoid the insane shipping time on massdrop.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N27DF6O/ref=twister_B01GPBS4PK?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 $15.74 on Massdrop with shipping $15.85 with Prime on amazon 11 cent difference. Month long shipping difference.
I bought one of these a few years ago and it's held up to some pretty heavy beatings. I'm not a big fan of the quality of most Rothco products, but I'll give an exception to this one. I'm debating on buying a few more to transport things other than tools when I go off-road camping for several days.
Nice little bag .......
Joined drop, and found one of these in the corner of a hangar, wrinkled up. Cleaned up well with water... The exact bag. Needless to say, I've dropped out xD

Pictures aren't as glamorous, but this looks basically the same.

https://www.preparedness.com/products/military-g-i-style-tool-kit-bag-by-rothco?variant=32347639937 this is the exact bag and it cost less with shipping if you order more than one

Actually you can beat them.
Beat them with a stick, with a rope, with the inside of a pickup truck bed, beat them with the floor and the wall, dry, wet and dirty.
You can beat them with lots of stuff, and they still work.
I have 2, one for random tools I take to work (different set from home) and a bright red one that sits in the back of the landcruiser with stuff like tourniquets, IBDs, gauze etc. in it.
Mine is stuck in "EN ROUTE TO DHL ECOMMERCE DISTRIBUTION CENTER" since June 16th. Any thoughts? Edit: Now my tracking straight up doesn't return any results o.O
Once again another item that can be purchased cheaper and shipped right away from Amazon.

I don't think that anyone minds when someone points out that a better deal is available, but, it becomes tedious when drop after drop has someone complaining about it. If it's not the best deal for you, it might be for someone else. This bitching when a drop isn't the cheapest in the universe, for absolutely everyone, is getting old.
PS. It's a bit weird laying some national claim to the web... given that it was created by an english dude working in France, for an EU organisation based in Switzerland (CERN). I'm fairly sure massdrop, if asked, would consider themselves a global entity based in the USA; creating an online business to service one country is... well.. ridiculous; unless you are providing a location specific service. Perhaps tone down the jingoism, it's a bit yucky.
consolation
It seems like the original post was just stating "I can get this cheaper and quicker from Amazon." That post poses no harm to anyone whether or not they can get the same deal, based on geographic location.
I'd much rather have people like the OP put massdrop on blast for not offering a "deal" than have the site overrun with everyday products at everyday prices. Keeps them on their toes by letting them know people are price checking them instead of just blinding hitting BUY.
Honestly, for every person I've seen saying "this isn't a deal for US customers because of Amazon Prime" I must have seen 10 posts on drops saying "This isn't a deal half way around the world because of the international shipping costs!"... Sure that gets annoying sometimes but I don't post on those comments refuting their claim or telling them to think about others instead of themselves, because again I think that massdrop needs to know and potentially address their concerns accordingly.
These are really great, although the price is not the best (compared to what I got it for on Amazon). Super durable material and the hard plastic bottom is a nice addition. I can fit most hand tools (even a small hammer and a level), and it's been with me for close to 3-4 years now, and I don't think it's going to break/rip anytime soon. If anything I might get another one when it gets too ratty/dirty from all the oil/dirt it's been through.
Just in case MD is keeping track, I also didn't get it because of shipping and time compared to amazon. You have to beat or come close to price including shipping for me. Time isn't as big of an issue for me in most cases, but it is a consideration.
ChuckDee
i joined, in for three then canceled when i saw the shipping cost. Yikes.
It is not much bigger than a dopp or toilet bag. Only 11" long and 7" wide.

Thanks for posting that. Really hard to tell without something placed next to it for sense of scale.
