How good are these for just winter gloves?

SukinidachiThey are not intended as such and I wouldn't recommend them for that. No real insulation. They protect your hands when you do some heavy work but not from the cold :)

SukinidachiThey do for sure! I have a glove fetish of sorts and I have tried quite a few brands and models. These are OK quality and fit, and makes bush craft and labour easier. Chopping wood etc. If you want some winter gloves check out HWI's WCG 100 (leather and kevlar) or FLS 100 (fleece, touch screen), Hatch's Specialist All-Weather Glove, Mountain Made Outdoor glove or even North Face. They have a ton of models, most of which are touch screen compatible. These should be in the same price range and equal or better quality. Blackhawk, Damascus, Under Armour, Oakley and Outdoor Research have some decent ones as well at varying price points. Check them out, you should find some cool looking winter gloves among them :)

PunnyabrataThey are not insulated like proper winter gloves, so it depends on how cold it is where you live. I would not recommend them for winter use, as I stated earlier they are made for protecting your hands against small cuts, calluses and bruises when shooting, chopping wood and similar tasks. Not for protection against cold.

VermisYou seem to know your gloves vermis, do you have any recommendations for some heavy-duty gloves for someone who lives in Norway (not to bulky would also be good) :)

VermisWhile you're making suggestions--what about for hiking in moderately cold weather, no need for cutting wood etc. but sturdy enough to carry things around without getting torn up, and fairly easy to put on and take off in a hurry?

VermisI'd like to use them for forest work and farm work for now and maybe another pair for the summer where I'll need them for railroad work :)

Le-polarbearSorry for the late reply - my day was full to say the least. Awesome meeting a fellow Norwegian here btw :) As for gloves I'd recommend Mechanix for sure, game-on.no has quite a few models for a reasonable price. And their customer service is very good - the one time I got a pair of gloves with a bad seam in them they sent me new ones, no questions asked. Kept the old ones too, they work fine after a few stiches! The Winter Impact Pro model they have seems pretty nice I must say, although I haven't tried that particular one before. If you want to order Mechanix from the US or UK, look for models they made for off-shore and industrial use. The CG Heavy Duty gloves look great with the yellow leather! Imo :) You can also try Granberg.no , they have great gloves for just about everything you need. Lykke til!

Camelbak cold weather gloves, if you can find them. If not, try the cold weather Mechanix gloves, the 5.11 Preatorian 2 or Outdoor Research insulated ones. All good stuff tbh!
