A bic pen cap fits perfectly on the grip and over the tip of a rotring 600. No need to go retractable.

From what I heard the 600 is usually 16 bucks on amazon, not sure if this drop is worth it.

Retractable is the only way to go, literally. This model does not retract, and should never leave the desk drawer.

I bought both of these exact items separately and keep them together for field notes and such. I was unable to carry the pencil (600) in my pocket because the tip doesn't retract so I MacGuyvered a little slot on the back of the notepad to slide the pencil in.
I trimmed a nylon strap, that was roughly 1.5" wide, off an old back back and used gorilla glue to paste the edges of the strip to the back of the notepad effectively making a little "sheath" for the pencil. So far it's lasted 2 years.

Instabuy if it was the 800... The 600 just doesn't cut it in comparison!

GoreGoreGirlI actually prefer the 600... I have both and find the action on the 800 to be kind of "glitchy".

Navier_strokeOnly problem with the 600 is that it's a terrible option for EDC, the tip doesn't retract and it's incredibly delicate. Drop it once and there's a good chance you will never use it again. I'll take 'a little glitchy over 'non-functiony' any day. Gone through (2) 600's already.
