The diffusion line of a renowned Scotland-based mill, Royal Speyside employs traditional methods and machinery to produce knitwear reminiscent of the Scottish Borders area. Which makes sense: The mill has been producing textiles here, on the banks of the River Teviot, for more than 140 years, with a focus on cashmere and wool Read More
jwuligeri would not take a chance on these re the sizing. also the sleeves seem short compared to the body. plus as close-up look hints of them being cheaply made.
Could you please tell if this is thin sweater or thick sweater ? I dont know what measurements are considered for thinness or thickness, but just to give you an idea, I consider a formal woolen vest is thin. I guess what I am trying to understand is although it says good for spring or fall, can it withstand US East Coast winters. If the sweater is thick and is wool and Angora, then I would think it could give considerable warmth.
WatchConnsrHi! From the vendor: "the sweater is knit on a 15 gauge Bentley Cotton plain frame machine; it equates to 15 needles to the inch and a half on the knitting machine needle bed" In layman's terms; this is not a chunky sweater. IMHO, I think this a great layering piece, but would not be as warm as a fisherman's or chunky cable knit.
I remember seeing that a lot of retailers stopped using angora wool after footage of the Chinese fur farms. Does anyone know where this wool is sourced?
