I love Rustico products but, after having this in my hands for a few weeks its really not what you or I would expect. The notebook provided is ideal for pencils and ball point pens some roller ball inks bleed through the paper and not to mention this is not fountain pen friendly at all. The odd size of the notebook limits what you can buy as a refill for the cover. The elastic strap closure is unforgiving if you decide to over stuff the notebook with added items the strap will crease the leather. The leather is of good quality and if like with any of my other Rustico items should last for a long time. That being said this is an item I would not buy for myself again or as a gift. I rather spend the money on a better Rustico item or another brand for that matter.
UPDATE 3/20/2019:
For those still using this cover and are looking for good paper quality refills here are a couple.
The first I tried was from NorthBooks they are made in the USA. The 5 x 8 inch notebook fits perfectly in the Zodiac Cover. The pages are glue bound to a flexible cardboard cover. Its works well with certain fountain pens depending on how wet they write. If you are the type of person that likes a gusher of pen then this notebook is not for you. Link below.

The other notebook is from Paper Craft imported from China sold here in the USA so no long wait if you need them. The paper quality of this notebook is much better than and the pages are glue bound just like NorthBooks and also fits perfectly in the cover. Link below.

Keep in mind that both of these refills "Do Not" open flat. Considering the odd size of the cover this is the best I could find to date.
