I think the photos are in black-and-white; if so, the nib will be gold. The nib is a specialty nib for writing kanji characters: it is narrow on the downstroke and wide on the crossstroke. If you use just the tip, in an extreme writing angle, it writes a very narrow line. I have one; I really like it (and have joined this drop), but it is not for everyone.

77kathWell now that I have read more, the Naginata-Togi “Japanese long sword” nib comes in two pen versions, gold trim or Rhodium plated (silver) trim. It did not occur to me that the photos may be in black & white. They both are the rarer variant of this pen.

GraydogOh, you may be right. I don’t really care; I want it for the nib. But the pictures are misleading, then.

77kathI believe that you can still get this exact same pen for USD195 from Pensinasia.com

77kathI am hoping for the Rhodium plated version, but yes the photos are misleading if it is a gold trim version shown in black & white photos.

GraydogA mystery. But on second thought, who uses b&w any more?

77kathThis is silver-colored trim as pictured, and we're trying to get more info on exactly the material for the trim plating.
