So the listing here on Massdrop says "It has a 2.8-inch LCD screen, which displays information in real time and can be customized to suit your needs" how the hell do you customize it? There are no buttons on the unit itself and scouring the SainSmart I cannot locate any software....what am I missing?

No logging and no reports on whether the magic number it provides is at all accurate, I'll pass.

Evaluation of the P3 showed poor calibration; compare to the report of the EU-funded Smart Citizen Kit that costs $250 and gets much closer to a $10k instrument. http://www.aqmd.gov/aq-spec/sensordetail/sainsmart---pure-morning-p3 Any research as to whether the P5 is closer to that accuracy for $85?

rndmonkeyI think all you need to do is look at the font used to tell what kind of quality you are going to get out of this thing... :)

I bought this on amazon.ca yesterday. For $89.99 CAD and some mysterious $50 coupon. There wasn’t any sales tax for some reason. So all in I paid $39.99 CAD = $30 USD. That said, I received the product today. It seems to work well. I’d buy again.

nishthefishAnd now I know why the deal was too good to be true. The product was labelled P5 on amazon but I received a P2.5 detector. Meaning mine doesn’t detect formaldehyde and CO2.

Is this device programmable (e. g. is this a Raspberry Pi or an Arduino that I can connect to and program?) Is the software running on the device open source?
