Do these shoes fit like an athletic shoe where it's 1 size larger than dress shoes/boots? Example, I wear a 9.5US for my Nike running shoes, but a 8.5US for the Massdrop-Allen Edmond Chukka.

thankHimI have a pair. I take a US 11.5 (29.5cm) in most shoes and boots and I have a medium-wide foot that is broad in the forefoot. I purchased these in US 11.5 and they fit fine but strangely they felt a little too small to start with as they have a close fitting forefoot and narrower than usual sole unit. I tested them at home for a full two days before committing to the first backpack.
They are very comfortable with a flexible forefoot and very good traction. The upper is soft and they feel more like a running shoe with an upper than a trad hiking boot. The lacing goes down to the toe, so easy to get the right fit and the ankle lock is bombproof - no heel slip in these puppies.
They are designed as an approach boot but are great for general hiking. I find them very stable and have worn them on talus, scree and off track The sole is soft and comfortable but has sufficient protection from underfoot rock points - these are good off track. The sole has a full vibram cleated outsole - so a proper mountain boot - and the toe has a 'climbing zone' that is useful for scrambling but overkill for trail walking (or perhaps underkill for mud).
I find them stable in all terrain but, as a caveat, i tend to wear trail runners backpacking and don't bother with 'ankle support' as a footwear function.
Buy these if you want a goretex boot that is comfortable, lightweight and grippy.

Thanks for the great review @wily-quixote . Have any pictures of these boots on the trail?
