A month ago, I probably would have jumped on this. At this point, I gotta have a mixer that I can control wirelessly from my iPad. No snake, each performer can control their own monitor mix, control the mix from anywhere in the room with out losing seats or blocking audience with a sound booth.

slehman805I am leaning towards either the Mackie - DL1608 because it is least expensive or the Behringer X32. Please help promote this Massdrop Poll so we can get good pricing. It seems to be frozen 75 votes shy of going to bid: https://www.massdrop.com/vote/digital-mixers?s=digital%20mixers

shupesterThe Mackie mixers are known for their preamps, being clean and with plenty of headroom. However, Behringer has had some image issues over the years. That being said, Behringer has completely revamped their lines in the last 4 years, and not just cosmetically. And with that said I never thought Behringer was subpar myself, they always made a solid product. They make work horses, they sound great and have a simple interface, all win-wins in my book.
Keep pushing that poll and hopefully we will get more votes for the next mixer drop. Thanks for being a part of Massdrop.

SeanReidI have been pushing the poll as hard as I can through Facebook and Twitter. I must say though that the current mechanism for participating in a poll is not very customer friendly. And not so easy for the non-member. I understand the need to have _only_ members vote, but if there are too many steps to getting the prospective member to the poll, it just isn't going to happen.
As it stands right now, to get my friends and professionals to weigh in on the poll, they click on my link it takes them to a challenge screen to create a user account- and they are not coming as a customer, so this is discouraging to busy people who aren't sold yet on joining another club/email ad list/social network. There should be some incentive or more enticing than "We're bring enthusiasts together … largest community commerce platform…"
So supposing they do figure what they heck, I'll join, if they were following my referral link they then are dumped into a general Massdrop homepage. Even if at that point they remember why they are there, it is really hard for them to figure out how to find the poll. Chances are more likely that they will get distracted by looking at other stuff, or eventually get frustrated and close the window. Ultimately, rather than voting, most of my friends and enthusiasts just go back to Facebook or Twitter and reply with their recommendation there.
The same is true with bringing new people into the community once there is Drop. I wish the link that goes to the Drop page had my referral built in to it, so that after a new person goes to look at the deal, they get the challenge to sign in/join, then after joining it refreshed the page to the Drop that I was recommending to them.

shupesterThank you so much for your comments. I will pass these along internally and it is always important to know how the end user experience is perceived. Thank you for taking the time to promote Massdrop and our polls and many more thanks for contributing to the discussion.

SeanReidI purchased one of Behringer's newer smaller format mixers recently. The model escapes me at the moment but it was somewhere around $250. It has some nice features, built in effects and on board EQ with a feedback helper (points out what frequencies your feedback is on allowing for easy adjustment).
The one problem I have with it is too much cross talk. I purchased it to create on on stage in ear monitor mix while running multitracks. Although the click track is confined to one channel that isn't even sent to the house mixer, I can still hear it on other channels including the house mains, loud enough that it is too noticeable for performance.
Edit: And the mixer model was the Behringer X1832USB.
