Amazon is having this for 93$ no tax and free shipping - would receive in a week if some of you guys don't want to wait like me.

Which you figure out, after you join! ;D
I hate to say it, but this is a terrible price for this product on Massdrop. You can buy this exact same hard drive on Amazon for $92 and have it arrive 1 to 2 weeks before this product would even ship.
Is this an SSD or a traditional hard drive?
Reider
mechanical
Reider
Obviously a hard drive. A 2tb SSD would be closer to $1000 than $100.
the price listed ($87.99) is that US dollars or my local currency (AUD)?
Al3c
USD. I wish they would just add the damn conversion in already..
Does anyone know if this external hard drive would handle well running steam games off of it?
Work with an Xbox One?
Androidknee
Yes

Thank you!
what the MSRP means
jura
the recommended retail price or, The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), list price or recommended retail price (RRP) of a product is the price at which the manufacturer recommends that the retailer sell the product. The intention was to help to standardise prices among locations
Why can't I find this product on the Samsung website? Anyone able to find it?
Bog21
probably a reason for that.
qua2k
But is it a discontinued product or something? Anyways I am still getting one...
Has anyone tried one of these as expanded storage for an Xbox One?
TacticalDan
This will work for the Xbox One
5400 or 7200?
UDsquare
5400
Sorry Massdrop but for Aussie Massdroppers you can get this drive for $124 in MSY. Whereas this drop is $125 + postage. Sadly if the Aussie Dollar wasn't so crap at the moment this would be decent value
Nicholsonr
Wouldn't it just be nice if Massdrop would hurry up and add the "What currency would you like to see this in" option already?
Bad drop for Aussies, $125 AUD before delivery, and you can get a generic 2TB one in most computer shops for around this price range. if this was $88 AUD however. I'd be balls into it
you can get it on amazon for 79.....this is high
bhar
I don't see that price on Amazon. With free shipping too?
normal price is $139.99 from Newegg.
Win 10 compatible?
hatman
Yes
I presume this is just a really fast mechanical hard drive, right?
RaymondTracer
Not particularly fast... About 70-90 MB/s for large file transfers. Bunches of small files go as low as 1-3 MB/s, depending greatly on a variety of factors.
But yeah, essentially a 2.5" mechanical drive.
McSteel
I agree with McSteel the quoted spec is theoretical speed of the drive. Real world speeds will be in McSteel's quoted speeds.
4.8 GB/s over USB 3.0? Or 4.8 GBit/s?
PhilippB
4.8 Gb/s, Gb = Gigabit. If you look in the specs section it is right; however, it is stated wrong in the description portion.
