I don't mean to be a party pooper, guys, just serving as a heads up: these will probably work fine for 90% of people, but if you intend on using it to connect to (and power) multiple 2.5" external hard drives, these are quite unstable. I thought my unit was defective at first, so I exchanged it, but the problems still persists. Apart from drives randomly un-mounting, sometimes speeds will drop to something like 0.2 megabytes per second (solution being to eject the drive and try plugging it into another one of the 9 slots).
If your intent is to mount multiple external HDD's, I highly suggest this one http://cl.ly/Xcq6 ("Anker® AH240 SuperSpeed Charger and Data Transfer Hub with 7 USB 3.0 Ports, Including a 12V / 5A Power Adapter [Chipset VL811+]")
Not that I would suggest doing it regularly, but I've tested it and it can stably power at least six 2 .5" HDD's while maintaing good transfer speeds.
The power supply the comes with it is twice the voltage of the Satechi one and as an added bonus, instead of having one dedicated "iPad charging port" - ALL SEVEN PORTS of the hub can be used to charge devices at 2.1amps, so you could be charging 4 iPads at once ***at full speed**
I hope this helps someone (and no, the Amazon link above is not my affiliate link or anything, just trying to help out)
