To hear the comments on this drop, you'd think that the pen was $1000. What are you using to gauge value? I'll be buying this pen directly from the designer. It's good to see US designers who care about turning out a solid, sustainable, timeless product and make it happen on their own. Congrats, Ian.

If the quality is there, as the video seems to indicate, and if the threads don't damage easily as one buyer had issues with, then I reckon this pen looks fantastic. I love the fact that it uses fisher refills and love that it is made 'locally' on a small scale.
chancingThe threads do not damage easily. I have had 2 returns and have sold many thousands of pens... if anyone is upset they can return the pen and ill repair or replace it. Normal use does not lead to damaged threads. Unless your normal use is beaming it at the wall over and over again... in which case i dont warranty that ;)

It comes with a fisher but should also fit any other parker style refill right?

I got a couple of these from the Kickstarter. It's very precisely made. They do get scratched up if you carrying them in your pocket with keys. The scratches add character and it looks less like a lipstick. I did add a thin o-ring to help keep it shut tight. It has gone through the wash many times.
It really is small when closed. Very pocket-able.

The only reason people buy different and new pens is because they lost there pen, the price is extremely overpriced, and no different than a Parker Pen which is still overpriced at around £12

Doesn't look like it has a clip, which is a total bummer.
kleetzthere will be a clip in the future... its an add on. Just trying to find a way to made it not cost too much... its really expensive to manufacture the clip I want to make and i really dont like to make compromises in my design. Trying my best to launch the clip by december. we will see if i can get it done

Be that as it may, but I want my pen to be securely on me. Not rattling around somewhere in my bag or wherever. The clip and cap could be a one piece design. Depending on the material it's made out of it could be very durable. The cost would probably go through the roof though.

I bought mine during the Kickstarter campaign. The pen scratches a lot, the threads get damaged easily, it rolls on the table, and doesn't feel good in the hand. In my opinion, it was not worth the $30 I paid for it then, and certainly not the $48.99 they’re asking now.
@Pantsu_Bear Ti and brass if this drop is a success! The black coating is hard mil spec black anodized. The pen only accept fisher cartridges since this keeps it super compact... maybe in the future ill do a parker one... I like that the fisher cartridges are made in the usa so i support them exclusively right now -Ian

To clarify my opinion stated above, I do not like the pen, but that is my personal opinion. The use of aluminum for an EDC pen, with threads on the outside, would not have been my first choice. I love a good patina, especially on brass, steel and titanium, but this blank aluminum does not age well in my opinion. After carrying it for a few weeks with my keys, I dropped it and damaged the threads on the back. The reason I didn’t contact you is because I damaged it myself, (this damage is thus not covered by warranty) and that I could easily fix it myself using a fine file.
But there are a lot of things to like about this design, it looks good (the brass or Ti version), it’s small and uses a fisher cartridge (not my preference, but that’s not a deal breaker for me).
Right now I’m using the Maxmadco bolt-action pen and I love it. The Shon DSGN pen got a spot in my EDC bag.

As nice as this pen looks I could never justify the price.
