For $10 i really can't complain much, there was some slight play with the blade when its locked n the coating on the blade wasn't 100% (some fading near the base), the only thing that I was really disappointed with was the pocket clip; it was a bit loose and was scratched beyond hell just from carrying it in my pocket n leaning up against a few things. I was planning on reselling it to a friend, but with how scratched it got from basic carry I'd feel bad giving it away for free :/

Got this knife. I thought it was going to be smaller, but it's really my fault for not doing more research. The blade doesn't feel as nice as my similarly priced Smith and Wesson. The blade and locking mechanism are both very tight. The special screw to tightening the blade is poorly formed, some of the prongs are mal formed. There was also a residue on both sides of the knife, perhaps even scratching. I can't get it off. This residue is also present on two of the screws that hold the knife together.
This is a cheap knife, make no mistake, but it's not a TERRIBLE knife. If you're looking for a daily driver, this should not be in consideration. But as a back up knife, you won't hate yourself for going this route.

I got the knife this evening - much faster than I anticipated. The knife only cost $10, but it will be the last $10 I spend on a Schrade knife. I was hoping for mid- to low-quality scales, and a mid- to good-quality mechanism, but it was the other way around. The action is very stiff, and the scales are sharp. I'd prefer the scales to be as smooth as the action for a utility knife like this one. Overall, I'm not sad about the purchase, but I won't waste my money again. I do not consider this a great value, but a fair one.

Massdrop get their ass into gear with knife imports. Australia laws have changed to allow folders again with the only scrutiny being assisted and auto.

Can anyone speak to the quality of this knife? Specifically blade play seems to be an issue on cheaper knives. I could live with it not being dead centered or not being razor sharp out of the box, but I can't live with blade play.

I now agree with you. Complete garbage. My knife arrived today. Out of the box the blade does not lock. The blade and locking mechanism are misaligned. Garbage.

theupandcomingcoreyI just got this is, and as it is, the knife is hard to close and open with one hand (my primary operation). I assume that it gets looser as time goes on like most knives. But the shape when unfolded is good. The blade is also centered pretty well.
