Doesn't break!
This is a great pocket comb. Love the leather holder.

Metal doesn’t work with my beard
I’ve had two problems with this which are probably specific to me, but are good for anyone considering purchase to know about. Firstly I have a pretty thick and long beard and this comb is just a little bit too short. It still works, but another inch would be really helpful. The second issue is that metal doesn’t make a very good comb material, at least when it comes to my beard. They did take the extra time to make the metal very smooth, so I am able to completely stroke it though my beard with only a few hairs getting caught (this is in comparison to Chicago combs, which I can barely move an inch through my beard before they get hopelessly tangled). Anyway, I’m still giving four stars because the quality of the item is good.

Great!
Solid weight, well crafted. Wish the teeth were slightly thinner and closer together.

Nice and heavyweight. Feels good in the hand. It needed to have the square edges of the tines relieved as part of production, as it catches and cuts hairs at any but the exact correct angle. This will wear over time, but until then it's a drawback for me.
csherman0512Is this an issue you're still dealing with? I would like to resolve this for you however I can. Please send me an email through the form on my website StandardIssue1942.com. If your comb has some burrs that were missed when it was polished I will either repair or replace. Thank you.

CarbonHandprintSorry for the long delay. There was nothing improperly made about the comb, just that the manufacturing process leaves it with sharp, square corners. That said, I've learned to keep it at the proper angle to avoid (much) catching, and I use it every day. Thanks!

Really beautiful and well-made comb! It will develop a patina since it's raw brass, so if you want it to stay shiny forever, it is not for you. Materials like brass and leather naturally show patina and signs of use over time, which is part of their beauty. But not everyone is into that kind of thing.

Classy looking in a retro way. The brass part is sturdy, perhaps even a bit too thick but it slides in and out of the leather cover in a very slick way.
It's very nice to hold in the hand and it gives the impression of something that was crafted, not just manufactured.

Hard to keep clean, starting to show signs of corrosion from water just from combing wet hair

dinedalThat is kind of the point of getting things made of raw brass. It's referred to by us pretentious people as a patina :p
