Bought one in brass from the Kickstarter campaign. Well made and looked great. However, in the two days I carried it my keys fell three times. The first two times, I heard them hit, but the third time I was lucky someone pointed it out. I never used it again.
The price is high compared to similar brass hooks on the market because it's machined from solid brass material rather than mold casted. Plus it's made in the US.
mespineli15The cost is NOT justified by this construction method. There are relative values for certain products, and often times you're paying for the name rather than for the product itself. No problem whatsoever with that. But this is in line with that sourpuss designer that made painted leather wraps for zippos then Jared them up hundreds of dollars. When something is marked up this high, it's well into laughable territory.
But if there's a market for it, good for them. Just WAAAAYYY too rich for my blood/need.
Bought one of these in the kickstarter campaign. It's definitely not cheap, but it feels like it will last forever, and it's functionality as both a bottle opener and a key hook are top notch.
there's definitely cheaper things if you're mainly looking for the hook functionality. however, the bottle opener that seems to work really well is what makes this stand out. still was a tough sell at this price though... especially considering the other cool things that can be gotten at $50. bottle opener's too cool though.
