Got a Seiko 5 in 1987 (remember the year because I graduated high school), gave it to my now 85 year old Dad for his Casio a few years back and he gave it to someone visiting from out of town a year ago - was working still when he gave it away and never had servicing. Close to 30 years of confirmed functioning. Watches have gotten bigger, and thought I'd get a smaller one, even though have too many (much more expensive) watches already -- nostalgia, I suppose.

Gary_SReviews like this, as well as the elegant nature of this particular model, are why I decided to pick it up as my first 'proper' watch. I've had a big, bulky G-shock for a few years, but it's impractically large and rather ugly. I am rather excited about it.
