What the heck is the 20-minute arc for? Decoration?

CloacaIt's actually for the second hand -- it counts out the seconds before the person standing beside you says, "what's the 20-second arc for?"

T4DealsThat works if the person first notices the watch when the second hand is at 12.

CloacaExactly. On a chronograph that might even be enough of an excuse for me. ;)
The marking look cool until you notice it's not on a bezel, then it suddenly looks tits-on-a-bull useless.

T4DealsIn theory, you could make a watch like this but where the second hand, upon some triggering act, goes to 12 and then becomes a second minute hand to time minutes. It would be a simpler watch than a diver, except you'd need some way to trigger it which would be an extra button, which would cancel out the simplicity of the dial.
