If you were to picture a signature Seiko, you may imagine something similar to the Seiko 5 SNXS7X. An automatic watch powered by the company’s in-house 7S26 movement, which features 21 jewels and a 41-hour power reserve, the watch is accurate and precise Read More
Lug width is wrong - it's 19mm. You'll want to replace the strap too, because these bracelets are just nasty. SNSX7 watches can be had for between £50 and £70 on Amazon UK and they're excellent watches at anything up to £100, but don't buy from MD at this price if you're from the UK. I modified mine with an Explorer dial and Rolex hands from Dagaz (the "marks" are actually fluff that is on the outside of the crystal, not inside!).
Thanks... your photo really brings out the sunburst in the dial much better than the stock photos. I'm liking it. Hard choice between this and the grey orient that's also for sale right now... $40 more but it has come features that offset that premium.
The sunburst is really nice, and far more obvious than any of the stock photos I've seen show. I only bought this Seiko 5 because I had the Explorer mod in mind, but it is a great watch as it comes. That said, the Orient does have some great features, you're right - the hacking movement and domed crystal being the big attractions for me. I'd love to pick one up myself, but I hardly ever wear a dress watch. The Seiko is more versatile but the Orient does "dress" better.
AutomagicI have one of these, and the lug width is 19mm (I've had Vernier calipers across it). 20mm leather straps are very snug but they do fit, and 20mm NATO straps curl over ever so slightly but still look good. Finding a decent 19mm bracelet is tricky, and I ended up buying one from HK on eBay.
Whatever you do, replace the nasty stock bracelet.
