Product Description
Seiko’s “Baby Monster” is derived from the company’s original “Monster” line, which featured the same chunky hands and dial layout. This version—much more affordable than its predecessor—scales the water resistance down to a still-commendable 100 meters, and swaps out the screw-down crown for a standard one Read More

Was just going over the comments from this old drop and all I can say is congratulations to everyone who actually scored one of these at MD's price of $140 because buddy, that ain't never gonna happen again! Couple of reasons for that: first, in all likelihood the watch has probably been discontinued in both colors (Blue and Orange) and second, we just don't get those kinds of deals anymore on Seiko--hell, we barely get any damn Seikos around here period! There's a lesson in all that--this watch had dropped a couple of times if memory serves, and more than a few guys (**see note below) passed it up thinking there was no particular rush to purchase one--perhaps it wasn't their first choice for a new watch, maybe they couldn't decide on the color, and since it had always been around, they likely thought it would continue to be around--until that day when it wasn't! Yes, watch fans, that day came and went a long time ago and I'm bet'n none of us got that email--the one telling us this was the last time we'd see the Ice Monster, and the last time we'd see a Seiko at what now turns out to have been a better than 50% discount...

It's a bitter pill to swallow, but after checking the usual discount sites this morning--Amazon looks to be the only seller with inventory, and their price is $319 for Blue, and $379 for Orange! Whether that price makes sense to you at this point is between you and your wallet, but I can only imagine New, In-box prices for these and all the other discontinued Seikos (SKX, SARB, etc...) we all thought would be around forever, are only going to climb higher. If that price doesn't work for you, it looks like the only alternative is the used market. So, what do you think? Is the Baby Ice Monster worth three hundred bucks, or would you rather spend about that much for one of the new models in Seiko 5 line? **NOTE: as of today, MD has sold more than seven hundred Ice Monster and has received more than 1,000 requests for more. I'm sure MD wishes they could source another few hundred just as much as the guys who missed out do...

Seem's like it's about time to drop that baby again. Can't wait to jump on it!

LecorneyI don’t think that’s going happen; they’re starting to get scarce (discontinued so far as I know).

RayFYou're probably right, the last drop was 8 months ago if I'm not mistaken. Looks like they're taking away the majority of noteworthy watch deals on MD. What a pity!

I have to ask because I can't find it on this website. What if the watch arrives not working or damaged? Are returns allowed? Does drop have customer service?I'm ready to order one!

UncSamIt was up for days--you blew it! Chances are pretty good we'll see it again in a month or two, but there's always eBay if not. Meantime, don't be a chicken, MD sell's tons of watches--on the off chance that you get bad one, they'll take care of it. And remember--if a watch breaks, it probably wasn't any good to begin with!

Watch people love this Seiko, but I can't seem to wrap my head around why. I'm not totally knocking it, but it seems a little overboard in all ways. I would have thought a watch person would want more subtle design language. What am I missing guys? What makes this desirable? I feel like a noob because I don't dig it. To me, this look like a GShock. And GShocks are not bad, but more utilitarian than this type of watch.

If you’ve got visions of Subs and Speedmasters dancing in your head when you consider this watch, it’s very definitely going to cloud your judgement. This guys DNA is strictly Seiko Monster—more Godzilla, than fancy Swiss Cheese ;- )

I think I speak for everyone in the MD watch community, when I say we are virulently opposed to any form of flatulence on this site—be it Self, or in conjunction with another member!!!

It looks beautiful - I wish they did that in quartz (I'm a heathen). Out of curiosity - can these be wound up if they're not worn for a while?

KizerYes, you can hand wind it. The power reserve (when fully wound) is about 40 hours.

Aww When I thought I will get a good deal but when I spend sometime looking, it's only USD177 in Thailand with full warranty from distributor and I can get it instantly. In here it will cost me USD154. Plus I might get to pay tax for who know how much depending on each inspector. Not worth it for me here.

Got the silver one last time I'm thinking about the Orange 1 but the timing is very bad. I am in between jobs and paychecks are going to be short
