At once sporty and sophisticated, the Seiko 5 SRPB Dual Crown Automatic lends itself to myriad scenarios: a meeting, a nice dinner, an afternoon on the boat, or a day at the races, perhaps. Like its name states, the watch is fixed with two crowns. The first one, at 3 o’clock, controls the hands and date window, which features both English and Spanish days of the week. The second crown, at 2 o’clock, controls the rotating bidirectional bezel beneath the Hardlex crystal. Adjust it to keep track of time underwater or on the go. The dial itself is absent of numerals and has lumed hands and markers. The counterbalance on the seconds hand is circular, adding to the sporty look. Powering the watch is Seiko’s own 4R36 24-jewel movement with a 41-hour power reserve. The movement is protected to 100 meters under water.
