PhatFreeFirst and foremost:
Based on experience, Amazon has a slightly faster processing and delivery time then Massdrop.
Secondly, as you have noted, Amazon is currently on a marginal deal, cheaper than Massdrop.
However, experiences with Massdrop for me:
Every drop, some items have ^ and v in prices, especially those consistently on drops, such as the "Wolf" watch box.
If you want to try the Massdrop experience, sure.
All in all, if you are looking why Massdrop?
Look at the macro point of view: They're able to cater to all ( most ) regions in the world, with a shipping fee already posted. All you have to go through is some VAT or GST in certain countries, which is pretty simplified.
Amazon is expensive for me, in addition, some dealers do not cater to certain countries, so it's sort of tedious to go around it. And for that, if I am able to get simplified alternatives for a marginal cost, I'm fine with it. If you can take advantage of a better deal, which most people wish to, why not?
The pricing and after sales support, is just your personal perference after all, which determines who 'gets ur contribution'.
This is just my 2 cents thoughts, take it with a pinch of salt, as I seldom purchase things online.
PhatFreeIf it's a dollar cheaper on Amazon, I would definitely get it from there. Not because it's a dollar cheaper, but because as you and others have mentioned, ordering through Amazon is much faster.
How are you getting it a dollar cheaper on Amazon? I have a Prime membership and I see it for 368 at it's lowest on Amazon, but for 347 on here.
InocenteMassdrop has sales tax in California, it ends up to be 373 for me. Amazon is 372 flat

PhatFreeYou sure Amazon doesn't collect sales tax in California? I'm in Michigan and get charged, and I believe they now collect sales tax for California as well.
EDIT: Just checked at Amazon and for some reason the Alpinist doesn't get charged sales tax in my basket, but the other items do... all Prime. Go figure. Must depend upon where or who is selling/shipping the watch??
PhatFreeOne other reason... Amazon provides a 2-year warranty through Asurion vs. 1-year through Massdrop. Up to you whether or not this is worth the extra $20-30 you may (or may not, depending upon tax situations) pay at Amazon.
It depends on the 3rd party vendor. The last few watches I bought on Amazon had no tax charged. If shipped and sold by Amazon however, they do charge tax in CA.
