It's not a bad watch, but it's not an amazing watch. I don't see why the watch forums go nuts for it. If it were released as a new watch tomorrow, it would be laughed at. If all my watches burned down in a tragic watch fire, this would be one I wouldn't replace. The joke on the watch forums is that the easiest way to tell a counterfeit from a real one is that the counterfeits have aligned chapter rings. Honestly, I can't decide if I want to sell mine or mod it to something more interesting.
However, it seems to be in limited production, which provokes the watch forums into a continuous panic that it's been discontinued (which it is the way it is headed). If you are brave enough to wait for a sale, you can do a bit better on the price. Or buy a better dive watch.
Monsters go on sale for about this price, and so can Turtles if you are lucky and patient. Shrouded Monsters drop to $250 now and then. And then the solar dive chronographs are awesome and about this price. The rest of the SRP series offer a tremendous range of styles, have better movements, and are about this price or cheaper at the expense of hardcore water resistance.
Deep Blue's homage is also worth a look.
drossmapI'd say you really missed the point on this watch. It's definitely not for you lol. Sold my seamaster pro, monster, turtle, etc because I wore this one more.
drossmapI have SKX007 and orange Monster and new Turtle PADI and this one I will definitely replace if I'll lost it or so. I have it with original jubilee and super oyster as well. SKX have a lot of my wrist time.
Movement is old but surprisingly accurate and only complaint its not hand winding.
