Droid1963The J indicates:
1-21 jewels shown on the dial.
2- "Made in Japan" also shown in very small lettering on the bottom of the dial.
Some collectors consider the J models a little more desirable as they were actually made in a factory in Japan .
braddahbillYeah. There are two camps. Some believe they are actually made in Japan, others feel that that's unlikely and more due to import/export requirements in different countries . For me, the latter seems more plausible given that there are higher tier JDM Seikos that aren't even made in Japan, much less entry (a lot of seiko 5's with J variants) or mid-range Seikos.
Another thing is that J's tend to have arabic as the 2nd language on the day/date dial. Some folks may prefer Roman numbers or Spanish.
Droid1963you're right and there's more differences, the J are made in Japan, the K are made in Malaysia, also minor differences about the how the crown feels and I beleive the way the the watch case/lug is brushed.
