Styled like an old grandfather clock, the Seiko Presage SRP Automatic gives off nostalgic vibes, calling back to a simpler time. The dial, available in multiple colors, features Roman numerals and slim hands, plus a day-and-date window at 3 o’clock Read More
I purchased the watch as a birthday present. Received it at end of June, it is not even a month old and the glass fell off yesterday.... as it does not come with a warranty, Massdrop cannot replace, only Refund.
I see the black dial one with saphire crystal, JDM model on ebay from Singapore for about the same price. Same price on leather strap or bracelet. I have had a couple of bad experiences with Singapore sellers so I'd rather go with the Massdrop deal.
Hey does anyone know if the days of the week are in english or another language? The first picture shows the day of the week at Lun but the pictures of the watches in the other colours show the days in english
Does anyone know if the cream dial on the bracelet has blue hands or black? It could just be my screen settings, but it looks like they might be a very dark blue?
I'm one click away from jumping on this, but I saw other sites showing the crystal as "Hardlex Crystal" not sapphire. Can someone clarify what's happening here? Maybe this is a newer version of the same model?
Can someone also tell me what the bracelet width is? Lug width is inside or outside of the lugs? newbie here :) Since black/black is out of stock, I'm thinking to get black/steel and get a black bracelet on amazon.
edit: seeing this site

shows sapphire. Can someone confirm the massdrop version is indeed this new model?
I wish this had the 6R15. I only have one watch with the 4R36 (SARY057), and it has given me resistance winding ever since I bought it. It also does not hold power very long (must wind it daily, whereas the 6R15 is good for two days).
That said, I am extremely temped to buy this. It is so inexpensive with a day-date and an old-fashioned dial. I no longer have any Roman numeral dial watches (used to have a beautiful vintage gold model with individual gold Roman numerals that looked wonderful, but I sold it, and now everything vintage costs a fortune).
Can anyone speak to the bracelet quality? I know Seiko straps suck at this price point, but often their bracelets are surprisingly comfortable. I am curious if anyone has real experience with them.
FarragoYou can try the SSA231, or 233 for a textured dial. But, you'd be out the sapphire crystal, better adorned movement, water resistance and better size of this SRP model. I recently got the SSA233 and thinking, what a great deal this is. Too late for me.
rsladdThe old fashioned way: from the product specs provided by massdrop and attached to the description of this drop. Where it says crystal: sapphire.
