At 47.5 millimeters, the Seiko Prospex GMT PADI SUN 065 makes its presence known instantly on the wrist. But it’s not only sheer size that makes it so impressionable. Just look to the chunky indices, deep blue dial, hefty stainless steel case, and sapphire crystal and you’ll see what makes it stand out. In addition to offsetting the blue dial, the orange GMT hand helps you keep track of time in another time zone. The hands and indices are lumed for visibility in the dark—or at depths of 200 meters. Also notable is the unidirectional bezel, which is partially covered in the northwest and southeastern edges. It helps keep track of elapsed time. At 2 o’clock is a pusher to indicate how much power remains with the kinetic movement. See below for more details.
Note: This drop is limited to 50 units.
Part of Seiko’s Prospex line, the GMT PADI SUN065 is equipped with kinetic movement. Released by Seiko in the late 1980s, kinetic movements combine the accuracy of quartz with the winding mechanism of an automatic watch. A fully charged kinetic watch will store up to 6 months of power. To determine the watch’s power reserve, hit the button at the 2 o’clock position—if it skips ahead 30 seconds, it’s fully charged; 15 seconds, it has 3 months of power; and so on.
