I was planning to get a Black Orient Ray when this popped up. Now I'm not too sure which to get. I hardly swim and not much of a diver but I enjoy diver watches for their looks and quality is still important to me.
So what do you guys think? The Orient Ray or the Sea Urchin?

JimHarrisSince the prices for both are in same ballpark, I'd wholeheartedly recommend Orient Ray (either original stainless steel or IP black). While Seiko is completely solid watch on its own, Orient offers higher 200M water rating, screwed-down crown, proprietary movement, and more distinctive diver design (relative to Seiko's homage to traditional Rolex diver). However, in the end of the day, both watches offer so much for the money and you will be happy with either :)

JimHarrisDepending on when you see this reply, the black Orient Ray is a lightning deal on Amazon at 12:00pm (US Central time), approximately 3 hours from now. Not sure yet what the price will be, but I'll be checking it out.

MegaTrainThanks for sharing the heads-up. Where do you see that upcoming lightning deal? Regular Orient Mako is on lightning deal right now, but Black Orient Ray is nowhere to be found in Deals page.

DataLighterSorry, you are right, it was the Mako and not the Ray. My mistake!
< $110 is still decent for the Mako, I guess.

MegaTrainThanks for letting us know despite it being a Mako. I think I prefer the Orient Ray over the Mako so I'll look forward to it being on sale or massdrop soon.
