Like the dashboard of a cockpit, the aptly named Flightmaster is packed with information that can be difficult to interpret at first glance. With practice, however, you’ll be able to use this Japanese quartz watch to summon all kinds of info: time, speed, and distance calculations; fuel consumption; climbing altitude, rate, and time; unit conversion; square root and rule-of-three calculations; and much more. That’s all thanks to the slide rule bezel, which features two logarithmic scales in addition to a tachymeter scale. But you don’t have to be a pilot to appreciate the Flightmaster.
Packed with useful functions for everyday use, the watch features an alarm, which is positioned at 6 o’clock and can be set using the screw-down crown at 3 o’clock. The watch also has a chronograph complication, providing easy-to-use stopwatch functionality by way of the pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock. These also feature a screw-down design, giving the Flightmaster a water-resistance rating of 200 meters. What’s more, the watch is equipped with a date window at 3 o’clock. And for added visibility at night, it’s fitted with lumed hour-marker pips, which are rimmed in stainless steel, and luminous hands.
