I have the black/gold Seiko "Baby Monster"from this drop. I LOVE the look of the watch but it's a bit too big for my skinny wrists. I wore it once and decided to replace the band with a black/gold NATO band. I wore it once after that and feel that it's just too big for me. I'd be happy to sell it at the original drop price (+shipping) and throw in the NATO band for free if anyone is interested. Like I said, it's gorgeous but it's too big for my skinny arms. ;-)
Is the diameter really 44mm? Or is that including the crown and crown guard? I've seen several sites where this is listed as 42mm (and one where it is listed at 46mm). 40mm is my usual limit on size, but I might push it to 42mm for this one. Unfortunately the Orange is gone already.

Never mind, found my answer on YouTube... too big for me. Especially with a 51mm lug-to-lug.

Question. Why does the 'baby monster' have a larger case size (44mm) than the actual monster (42.3mm). Seems counter intuitive...
Krissom
Because people say " BabY thats big " lol
I would buy this if it were an einzeiger.
I've just paid £199 on a seiko baby monster orange srpb39j1 on EBAY have I paid to much and he hasarnt posted it yet I paid yesterday should I be worried? I would appreciate any help in this matter I'm new to buying off EBAY
Made in Japan or China? At work I was checking the watches and was stunned to find a nice Seiko automatic made in China.
What's special about the remaining options to warrant an upcharge for each?
scubalab
Just because.
Is there any possible way to get my hands on the SRPB33K1 Stainless Steel version? Only 27 sold and already no stainless steel version more available -.-

There's a seller on eBay (ships from Miami Fla.) that has the model you're looking for, his price ($158) & ships now It's an $18 up charge over the MassDrop price but, if you want that model, seems like a no brainer

Thank you for that fast answer :)
Couldn’t resist!
2nd drop on these in a few months, iirc, but where's a drop on the monster? That's been sitting at around 1000 requests for seemingly ever.
Here's a shot of my srpb39j1 Baby Orange Monster next to my srp639 Baby Tuna. Love them both. Baby Tuna has a screw down crown, better lume by far, 200m water resistance, solid caseback and carries the Prospex logo of approval. The Baby Monster on the other hand has a clear case back and non-screw dowm crown. It is still relatively capable with 100m water resistance, but the lume is noticeably less powerful and it's not Prospex approved. The Baby Monster is definitely more of a fashion watch which is still capable for watersports, while the Baby Tuna is a real dive watch. The Tuna however costs around twice as much, making the baby monster a relative bargain. And even then, both of these watches are still "baby" versions of the original Tuna and orange Monster respectively. Both great watches.

Does anyone know if you can swim with this watch? Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes as long as you remember to keep the crown pushed in it is waterproof to 100m.

Thanks Flyanam
I like the 55 reminds me of the price is right.
im all for upgrading seiko 5's line but why didnt they upgrade the skx007 to a 4r36? its easily the most popular diver they have it seems.
MrMiyagi
They kind of short of but not quite did with the new Seiko turtles.
I thought the "Baby" part in Baby Monster was referring to it's size :( ... Maybe next time!
I actually love the black and gold one, but I don’t think there’s any way I can wear a 44mm watch.
Slightly better hour indices design comparing to previous version with "silly misaligned sticker look round indices". Not a perfect design for me but though, can't complain at this price point.
Shipping to the UK cost please?

Join the drop friend, you can get an estimate for shipping before committing to drop

There will be customs charge as well. I got stung for £35 on my last Seiko....
I thought for a minute that the last one was a bronze Baby Monster!
Monster hour/minute hands, SKX seconds hand, monster like bezel with skx pattern minute markings (down to the 20).
Not bad, I'd buy it if I didn't already own 2 monsters, a Turtle, Combat Sub, etc. ;-)
$140 for a Seiko auto with a 4R36 hackable, manual wind movement seems to be a pretty solid deal. No screw-down crown and and only 100 M water resistance, but still capable enough for the majority of us.

The bezel indices are for timing, the dial indices are for time. They are not always aligned and thus not "doubles". Having minute indices on the bezel improves readability when using the bezel.
please note that the original monster, which is extremely popular, have minute indices around the entire bezel rather than just the first 15 minutes.
